Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Primary School) Location: Bolton BL2 Contract: Full-time, Term-time Only Salary: 13.69 – 15.83

We are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Bolton. As a dedicated Teaching Assistant, you will provide invaluable support to both teachers and pupils, contributing to the development and success of students across various year groups. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with a passion for education and child development.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with teachers to deliver high-quality lessons and support students’ academic and emotional needs. Your role will be essential in ensuring that all children have the opportunity to succeed, whether you are providing one-on-one support, helping in group activities, or assisting with classroom organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher with the planning and delivery of lessons, acting as a Teaching Assistant in various subjects across the curriculum.
  • Assist with the preparation and organisation of learning resources, ensuring the classroom is well-equipped for every lesson as a Teaching Assistant.
  • As a Teaching Assistant, help create a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment that promotes learning and the development of every child.
  • Help support children with special educational needs (SEN) or additional learning needs, ensuring that each child receives the support they require as a Teaching Assistant.
  • Participate in school activities and school-wide events, contributing to the overall school community as a Teaching Assistant.

Essential Criteria:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting is preferred, but not essential.
  • A passion for working with children and a strong commitment to supporting their academic and personal development as a Teaching Assistant.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • A proactive approach, with the ability to take initiative and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a caring attitude toward supporting children’s individual learning needs.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with children who have special educational needs (SEND).
  • Knowledge of phonics programs and early literacy strategies.
  • Familiarity with supporting children in preparation for assessments or exams as a Teaching Assistant.
