Job Description

GTS Group are seeking a skilled and motivated Electronics Engineer to join a forward-thinking OEM specialising in EV charging technology. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the development of cutting-edge products by designing schematics, laying out PCBs, and contributing to the full hardware development lifecycle.

You’ll work closely with firmware and mechanical teams, ensuring high-quality, manufacturable electronic assemblies that meet industry standards and performance requirements. This role offers the chance to get hands-on with both design and validation, supporting next-generation EV infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and optimise electronic schematics for a variety of applications
  • Create PCB layouts with a focus on signal integrity, power distribution, and manufacturability
  • Select electronic components based on cost, availability, and performance
  • Develop PCBA test rigs to validate functionality and reliability
  • Collaborate with firmware and mechanical teams to integrate hardware and software effectively
  • Participate in design reviews and assist with debugging and circuit-level troubleshooting
  • Ensure designs meet industry compliance and best practice standards
  • Document design work, test procedures, and any changes throughout the process

Requirements:

  • Degree-qualified in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Hands-on experience in schematic design and PCB layout (Altium Designer, KiCad, Pulsonix)
  • Experience building and implementing PCBA test rigs
  • Strong understanding of power electronics, embedded systems, and signal integrity
  • Familiarity with communication protocols: SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, RS485
  • Confident using test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analysers)
  • Good understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFT (Design for Test) principles
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team

Desirable:

  • Experience with high-speed PCB design or RF considerations
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards (CE, FCC, IPC, etc.)
  • Knowledge of automated testing or scripting (Python, LabVIEW, etc.)
  • Previous experience in electronics for industrial or automotive products
