Inventory Associate (Pharmacy)

Location: Manchester

Reporting to: Senior Pharmacy Manager

Hours: Full time (42.5 hours). We do not offer part time.

About The Role

This role involves maintaining high operational standards, supporting inventory accuracy, fulfilling customer orders, and ensuring a safe and organized work environment. Candidates must demonstrate adaptability, physical fitness, and a commitment to compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.

Requirements (essential)

  1. Exceptional accuracy and reliability in all tasks.
  2. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  3. Proficient in numeracy with solid IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  4. Physically fit to handle manual tasks and work in multi-temperature environments.
  5. Customer-focused with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
  6. Excellent time management and the ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure.
  7. Collaborative team player with a proactive and positive attitude.
  8. Detail-oriented with the capability to adapt to evolving work demands.
  9. Willing to travel to our off-site facility to deliver and retrieve packaging goods.

Desirable Requirements

  1. Human Medicines Regulations 2012.
  2. GMP and GDP standards.
  3. HSE Warehousing and Storage – A guide to Health and Safety HSG76 (HSE).

Responsibilities

  1. Maintain good housekeeping to ensure a safe and organized work environment.
  2. Promoting efficient working methods and highlighting inefficiencies within the Pharmacy stock control area.
  3. Support inventory control methods to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  4. Organizing transfers and loading goods where appropriate.
  5. Promote and maintain high pharmacy standards.
  6. Clean and maintain the Pharmacy receipt, storage, and goods-out areas.
  7. Pick orders from storage and deliver them to packing areas or the loading bay for transportation.
  8. Pack products into containers, ensuring they are properly sealed and protected for delivery.
  9. Ensure orders are correctly packaged and labelled to prevent returns.
  10. Load and unload stock and orders by hand, trolley, or pallet.
  11. Check for damaged or missing items and sort stock for storage in the Pharmacy.
  12. Take goods to appropriate storage spaces, following the FEFO procedure.
  13. Rearrange stock to ensure safe storage and optimal organization.
  14. Be willing to work in multi-temperature environments, including ambient, chilled, and freezer areas.
  15. Ability to carry out manual handling of light goods as an essential requirement.
  16. Perform various ad-hoc tasks, including processing orders via e-Pharmacy/IQ.
