The Company

Requirements

For this role it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum;

  • BA (Hons) in Product Design, Architecture or equivalent

It is also preferable that you hold the experience below;

  • Previous experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
  • Strong background in architectural design, specifically in the interpretation and drafting of architectural floor plans and layouts
  • Previous experience in a CAD design role or similar for over 2 years, ideally within a manufacturing or design-driven environment

Additional skills;

  • Excellent analytical abilities
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficient utilisation in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong time-management skills with the capacity to effectively prioritise tasks
  • Knowledge of lighting products or experience in lighting design is advantageous
  • Strong and established understanding of materials, finishes and fabrication methods
  • Solid understanding of the design and manufacturing process (particularly in metalwork)
  • Excellent attention to detail, ensuring precision and uniformity in all documentation and designs
  • Advanced proficiency in utilising Autodesk’s Product Design & Manufacturing Collection, including expertise in AutoCAD and Inventor Professional
  • Capable of working efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines while consistently delivering high-quality results

The Role

Duties

  • Modify and refresh existing CAD models and drawings as needed
  • Prepare technical documentation and create presentation materials
  • Prepare precise and thorough installation manuals for new products
  • Work closely with engineering teams to improve and enhance designs
  • Ensure designs align with industry standards and project requirements
  • Develop precise 2D/3D representations based on the provided design requirements
  • Support senior designers in the creation and development of product ideas and prototypes
  • Review and interpret architectural plans from clients, producing detailed drawings as required
  • Acquire a detailed understanding of the materials and manufacturing techniques utilized by the company, including the production of lighting and the creation of metal furniture, working with materials such as glass, bronze, brass, steel, and stone
  • Generate accurate CAD and production drawings based on architectural plans, including the ability to measure existing products, gather precise dimensions, and accurately represent them in the drawings
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external collaborators to build and maintain professional, positive relationships, ensuring effective communication and collaboration
  • Pay close attention to detail, form, and finish while ensuring the effective and secure management of design documentation and overseeing database operations efficiently and safely
  • Create precise and clear technical manufacturing drawings and proposal visuals for clients, ensuring high quality and attention to detail
  • Design custom solutions or create tailored drawings based on the standard product lineup and new product ideas
  • Prepare and present detailed product drawings for production, ensuring they are clear, accurate, and ready for manufacturing
  • Create floor plans and modify architectural drawings as needed to ensure seamless integration of products into client layouts
  • Compare prototypes with technical manufacturing supplier drawings to ensure they meet required specifications and are accurate
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing team, ensuring client requirements and expectations are clearly understood and met
  • Ensure the design database is consistently refreshed and managed, providing stakeholders with the latest, accurate information
