Our client, a Middle Eastern bank based in London, is seeking a skilled and experienced Debt Restructuring Manager to join their finance and risk team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and restructuring the bank’s debt portfolio, ensuring financial stability, and aligning liabilities with cash flow.

This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of financial restructuring within the banking sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Debt Portfolio Management: Manage the bank’s debt obligations, ensuring timely repayments and adherence to financial covenants.
  • Restructuring Strategies: Design and execute debt restructuring plans to enhance the bank’s financial stability.
  • Stakeholder Negotiation: Collaborate with lenders, investors, and key stakeholders to secure favourable terms and conditions for debt agreements.
  • Financial Analysis: Perform in-depth financial evaluations to determine the effects of different restructuring strategies and propose the most effective solutions.
  • Risk Assessment: Analyse financial risks associated with debt obligations and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Reporting: Create comprehensive reports and presentations for senior management, detailing debt positions and restructuring progress.
  • Compliance: Ensure all debt restructuring activities adhere to applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline; a master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, ACA) is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in debt restructuring, financial analysis, or corporate finance.
  • In-depth knowledge of the UK retail banking sector and industry best practices.
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication abilities, with the capability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in financial modelling and analytical tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities under pressure.
