Job Summary:The Financial Projects Manager role is situated within the WMFTS Global Finance Team, a central team responsible for maintaining effective financial processes and governance across the global organisation. WMFTS is entering an exciting phase of innovation, with opportunity to directly improve financial processes and systems for the benefit of all WMFTS operating companies globally. The role will focus on the delivery of projects and embedding good practice associated with these on an ongoing basis. The role is a unique opportunity to make a significant difference within the WMFTS Global Finance community from the outset. You will be part of a proactive and supportive team committed to delivering high standards and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project managing the implementation of various new finance software solutions across WMFTS operating companies, with a strong focus initially on the Procure to Pay process.
  2. A member of project teams relating to other software roll-outs that impact the finance function.
  3. Work closely with multiple stakeholders to deliver effective solutions, including 3rd party suppliers.
  4. Delivering user training related to implementations and maintaining effective training materials and best practice documents for ongoing reference.
  5. Overseeing effective ongoing governance in relation to new solutions from a central finance perspective, including internal controls compliance.
  6. Driving consistent best practice across WMFTS operating companies, whilst implementing bespoke local solutions if and when required.
  7. Agreeing and setting timetables for delivery of projects in conjunction with various stakeholders.
  8. Liaising with the Group’s compliance functions, including Internal Controls and Internal Audit departments to ensure solutions operate to a high standard of compliance in line with Group Policies.
  9. Identifying and promoting opportunities to centralise financial process operation, to reduce burden on WMFTS operating company finance teams.

Skills/Experience:

  1. Professional accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
  2. An effective project manager with the ability to lead responsibly, prioritise tasks, problem solve and assign responsibilities among a team.
  3. Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence a range of stakeholders.
  4. Self-sufficient with an ability to work independently and proactively, as well as to collaborate as part of a team.
  5. Ability to make professional judgements independently.
  6. Knowledge of internal controls to ensure solutions meet WMFTS’s high standard of compliance requirements.
  7. Highly IT literate and experienced in working with commercial finance system.
