Principal Structural Engineer Rail

Are you an accomplished Principal Structural Design Engineer with expertise in Network Rail engineering standards?

Are you a Chartered Engineer looking to lead and inspire teams while contributing to exciting projects in CP7?

Salary: £60,000 – £68,000Location: London or Sidcup, with hybrid working (2-3 days per week on-site)

What you’ll bring:

1. A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline.
2. Chartered or Incorporated status with ICE or IStructE – this is essential.
3. At least 8 years experience in civil structural engineering, particularly with materials like masonry, reinforced concrete (RC), and steel.
4. A proven track record in leading projects and teams with confidence and collaboration.
5. Exceptional project management skills and commercial awareness.
6. Proficiency in structural analysis software such as Tedds, Tekla, MIDAS, Robot, SuperStress, LUSAS, etc.
7. In-depth understanding of Network Rail engineering standards, demonstrated through previous project experience.
8. Strong ability to check and approve designs and calculations, as well as mentor and manage junior engineers.
9. Design CRE experience is beneficial but not essential.
