Procurement Manager

North London – Hybrid

Salary: £60,000 – £70,000!

Develop and implement global procurement strategies, addressing complex challenges through strategic thinking and cross-functional collaboration within a matrix organisation.

Lead the purchasing team, overseeing new product development with supplier engagement and commercial due diligence.

Manage the Logistics team to ensure compliant and efficient import/export operations. Support contract bid preparation.

Responsibilities of Procurement Manager:

  • Define and execute robust sourcing strategies for new and existing products or services, adhering to Life Cycle Management principles.
  • Establish strong commercial partnerships with key strategic suppliers to ensure the successful delivery of current and future programmes.
  • Ensure full compliance with relevant legislation and procedures for all imports and exports, adapting to any future regulatory changes.
  • Drive continuous performance improvement across all aspects of supply chain operations, including logistics.
  • Lead and manage the team by setting clear departmental and personal objectives.
  • Oversee competitive tendering processes, including supplier selection, pre-qualification, tender evaluation, and contract award, in line with procurement plans and governance.
  • Ensure the procurement function is actively involved in the development and introduction of new products.
  • Manage the procurement of assigned commodities.
  • Travel within the UK and overseas, this could be at short notice.

What are we looking for in a Procurement Manager?

  • Proven experience in a senior purchasing or commercial role at an executive management level.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing large, complex product or service contracts with robust contractual agreements.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience with MRP systems, Kanban, contract law, risk management, negotiation, and operating within a change-driven organisation.
  • Skilled in leading, developing, and collaborating effectively within teams.
  • Exceptional communication abilities, with a track record of delivering presentations to director-level audiences.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a focus on innovative change management.
  • Demonstrates drive, initiative, and strategic thinking to anticipate challenges and take action to optimise profitability and cash flow across all business areas.
  • HNC/ Degree or equivalent in a technical or business-related subject
  • CIPS Membership is ideal but not necessary
