Electrical Safety Test Engineer Ref. 940nnDepartment: ManufacturingnnSalary: £36,330 – £39,045nnJob descriptionnnThis role is available full-time for 37 hours per week.nnFlexible or compressed working patterns available.nnDo you want to work somewhere a little bit different?nnWhere you also play a part in national security engineering?nnDo you want to expand and develop your existing electrical safety testingnskills?nnMaybe in an environment that you have never experienced or considered before?nnWorking in our advanced manufacturing facility, you will use your existingnskills and experience within a team of manufacturing engineers working onnprojects critical to protect national security.nnYou will use your skills and knowledge in areas such as: evaluating bespokenproducts and documentation to the test standards; and writing and reviewingnevaluation reports.nnNo two days are the same. One day you could be completing an evaluation, thennext you could be assessing material properties.nnYou will have hands on involvement in evaluating products for use in a widenrange of scenarios from low powered devices to high voltage systems.nnYoull enjoy working as part of a team and the opportunities that provides tonboth develop and share your knowledge and skills.nnMore About YounnTo apply for this role, you will already have:nn * A background in product safety testing.n * A clear understanding of safety engineering and assurance principles.n * Experience and knowledge in one or more electrical safety standards e.g.
BS EN 62368, BS EN 61010, BS EN 60335.n * IT skills; particularly in Microsoft Office applications.nnTo strengthen your application, it would be beneficial if you also have:nn * Experience of safety critical function designdevelopment of electrical products.n * An understanding of different certification schemes.n * Ability to fault find down to component level.nnYour Personal SkillsnnYou will be the type of person who:nn * Enjoys coming up with creative solutions.n * Wants to improve on yesterday – striving to be the best you can.n * Makes mistakes.
